Spring Fever

     It's getting closer and closer...SPRING! As sad as it is, it's almost time to put up the boots for another 8 months. I can't even begin to express my excitement for this season full of happiness, color, and fun. I'm going to cut this one short and leave y'all with some spring favorites.

Fat Tuesday

     Happy Mardi Gras y'all! I hope everyone eats as much king cake as possible, and good luck on finding  the baby! 

     Sooo, we all know what starts tomorrow...lent, and everyone is supposed to give something up....right? Confession: I have never, and I mean NEVER gone the whole way through lent without taking part in what i gave up. However, this year is going to be different.....I'm determined. You see, I have this litttttle problem with diet coke/diet dr. pepper....excuse me, ADDICTION. You know there is nothing better than a fountain drink diet coke with a straw, or a cold canned diet dr. pepper. I'm sure you've guessed where i'm going with this by now.....yep, I'm completely giving up soft drinks for lent. I WILL do this. The thing is, I have a whole new perspective on it this year. Each year when lent rolls around, I always seem to forget the fact that we are giving something up for God. He gave HIS life for US so that we may have eternal life with him in heaven. There are absolutely no excuses...I can do this! Happy Fat Tuesday, and here's to drinking as much diet coke as possible today!

Good News

    Sooooo...As many of you probably know, Evans got in to Ole Miss Law School. I can not even begin to express my excitement for him...I guess it's because I watched him work so hard practicing for the LSAT and what not. I can't believe he is going to be a rebel (he even wants an ole miss game day shirt!) This is super exciting for me because I grew up a rebel, and can't wait for him to experience what I experienced growing up. Don't get me wrong, I LOVEEEE MSU, but there is just something about Oxford and Ole Miss that will always have a place in my heart: the square, the way the grove looks in the fall, and the love my family has for that school. I mean come on, I took my first steps in oxford, and spent my entire childhood running around the grove in an Ole Miss cheerleader outfit. It also helps that I want to attend their Literacy program for grad school to become a reading specialist (specialize in helping kids with reading disabilities such as dyslexia.) BUTTT for now I will continue to love MSU as much as I do, and root for them in every athletic event. After all, I'm a bulldog. So for now, hotty toddy and hail state! (so many people are going to hate this post...sorryyy!)
     On the other hand, I got a kindle yesterday and will be spending my weekend seeing what all the hype is about the hunger games, anddd celebrating Evans's entrance to law school! Everyone have a safe and happy weekend!

Oh, Valentines Day

     Well, it's that day again----Valentines: the day some people love, and some people absolutely despise. As for me, I don't mind it......in fact, I actually like it. It gives me an excuse to bake my favorite treats, be cheesy, and buy stupid hallmark cards.....and I guess it helps that pink is my favorite color. My roomie and I have been taking on the role of Betty Crocker in the kitchen, baking goodies....something we tend to do often, only this time with a Valentine theme (like I said, we have an excuse this time...that counts for something....right?)
    Evans is taking me to Old Venice tonight, even though I would be perfectly fine with staying home and cooking. However, this has become tradition due to the fact that our first date was actually on Valentines 2 years ago at Old Venice (gooby I know, I know.....sorryyyy) BUTTT, I must admit..... I'm super excited and can't wait wait!
     For some people, I know today can be a bummer.....aka "single awareness day." Trust me, I've been there. Just have a good time with the girls....or guys?..... and remember that you are loved by so many different people. When you're walking to class today, flash someone a smile. Sometimes that's all it takes to turn a person's day around. Plus, you should be smiling because God loves you, and has blessed you in so many ways! Have a Happy Valentines Day =)

February Vacation

     I'm baaaccckkk! This was my home for the past several days, and let me just tell you--if you need a little get-away to Cozumel, Mexico, the Carnival Elation is the way to go. We left from New Orleans on Thursday, and returned Monday morning. The inside of the ship was gorgeous..well actually, the whole ship was..and the best part was the unlimited chicken fingers and honey mustard. (If you know me then you know this is my absolute favorite.) The first "fun day at sea" was overcast, but still super relaxing.  In Mexico we took a catamaran boat out to Passion Island. The weather was PERFECT..sunny skies accompanied by a light breeze. I could not think of a better way to spend my Saturday other than floating on a raft in the Caribbean...oh and not to mention a little shopping at the market. What would a trip to Mexico be without bargaining for cheesy tourist items? The last "fun day at sea" was absolutely beautiful. Dad and I got lay out chairs on the very back deck of the boat so that the sun was facing us, and indeed we got fried. The water was literally glistening..pictures don't do it justice. We got to watch the super bowl on the big screen (and i mean biggggg screen) during the last night which was really neat. What's awesome is that whenever Dad and I watch Eli play together..he always wins....no joke. It goes all the way back to when I was in junior high watching him play for Ole Miss (yes i used to be a MAJOR rebel..weird huh?) That pretty much wraps it up in a tiny nut-shell. I still feel like the ground is rocking everywhere I walk due to the fact that the seas were so rough. It kind of sucks getting back to reality, but hey..SB 2012 is right around the corner! I've gotta get back to my swamp of school work, but I'll leave y'all with some pictures from the trip. Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week!
