Crafting and Cooking

Summer is a time when I have an excessive amount of down time, which means lots of crafting...and cooking. I've always loved trying to get creative, but sometimes it turns out pretty disastrous. I mean seriously, I have these awesome visions in my head of all these wonderful crafts I want to make...it just doesn't always turn out right in reality. However, thanks to the discovery of Pinterest this past year, I can now get ideas that give me step by step instructions...and trust me, I have found plenty of things to keep me occupied this Summer. Also, Summer=cooking, and thanks to Pinterest, I have found recipes that I could have never thought of. Here are a few of my Summer to do projects/recipes that will be keeping me busy:
Top 5 crafting priorities:
Hellooooo new art above my bed

I did the whole paper flowers thing on my lampshade last year, and who would've guessed....they all fell off
I want to make this little nick-nack for my real house (hope you don't oppose, Mom!)

Front door decor for the apt? I think so!
This can't be hard

Top 5 recipes to cook this summer:
Pizza roll ups..who would've thought?

Spinach burgers..can't think of anything more perfect considering the fact that I loveee spinach

Clearly this is so simple but I think it is absolutely adorable..PB&J sushi!

Spinach and feta quesadillas..what could be more perfect?

Chessecake stuffed strawberries..I'm thinking 4th of July

I got all of these crafts and recipes from Pinterest, so if you're interested in getting the instructions/recipe, just go to my pinterest page at http://pinterest.com/maggie_selph/ and click on the picture and it should pop up!

That's all, folks!

Throwback Thursday

So I just came across this little picture from 9th Grade Graduation. I'm sorry, but that was just last week...right? Wrong...time sure has found a sly way to escape all these years. Check out my braces...I miss those things so much...NOT. What I do miss is sweet Lauren (right). She was one of my best friends, but had to move to Arkansas after 10th grade. Like we made up a roller coaster together...that's weird. We have kept in touch but have yet to see each other since the move. It's funny though, no matter how long we go without talking, we can always pick up right where we left off. Oh, and it's inevitable that I will be laughing hysterically on the floor by the end of our phone conversation.  Here's where the good news comes in: Meredith(left) and I were talking at the pool the other day and are planning on coming to little rock for the Ole Miss vs. Arkansas game next fall. MSU plays away, so it is absolute perfection. Unlike all the other planned visits, this one is not going to fall through...and that's a promise.

Here's to wonderful friendships that neither time nor distance can ruin! Happy Thursday!

Sweet Sweet Summertime

This summer has already exceeded my expectations, and it has only been what, 3 weeks? Here is my summer in a nutshell pre beach trip:

Last time I left y'all I had just arrived at Rosemary beach with my cousin, her fiance, and their one year old baby girl. I babysat Avery while they made wedding plans. It was an absolute blast! I am so blessed to have such amazing family to spend time with. My cousin's sweet fiance, Chris, got us massages the first day we were there. This was my first massage, and lets just say it will most definitely not be the last. I sure have been missing out. The weather was flawless--sunny with a light breeze. The best part of the trip was not even being at the beach, but getting to spend time with Avery. Being the baby in my family, I never got to have any younger cousins, but now I get to have that with Avery. She is the sweetest most beautiful baby I have ever seen (I'm not just saying that because we're related...promise). And y'all, she can kind of say my name now...big deal! Rosemary was the perfect get away before heading back to Starkville in several days.

Well for now I'm going to watch the movie, Up!, with my besties...I've heard I'll be in tears. Hope y'all have a great rest of the weekend! Happy Summer!

Summer/Mothers Day

It's safe to say I've been checked out since exams were over. When I say I have done nothing, I mean nothingggg. Okay well my nothing consists of laying out, sleeping, reading, and a little bit of shopping.Words can't express how amazing it has felt to just be home for a while---no stress, meals cooked, no alarm clock, dogs, and a loving mom.

Ohhh, how convenient, it's mothers day! I can't even begin to tell y'all how wonderful of a mom I have. I am so blessed that God chose her to be my mom. She has raised me as a single mom, and done an exceptional job. I would not change anything. I'm so thankful that I can talk to her as a best friend, and there is no way that I would be where I am today without her loving guidance. When I say she would do anything for me, I mean anyyyyything. We have shared laughter, tears, and more memories than you can imagine (2 super fun cruises, falling to the floor when we found out I made dance team, road trips, coffee in bed with the dogs watching Golden girls, licking the beaters in the kitchen, long therapy phone conversations while I'm at college, extensive shopping excursions, soccer games, getting me ready for highschool dances, and breakfast in bed every single morning in grade school.....just to name a few)  I love you, mom! Thank-you for all that you do for me. Happy Mothers Day!

Anywayssss, I'm typing this post from Rosemary Beach---the most adorable beach town in the entire world. I'm here until Thursday with my cousin, her fiance, and their precious baby girl to babysit while they make wedding plans...YAY! It has already been sooo much fun. Avery will be saying my name by the end of the week...we're off to a great start :)

Hope everyone has a fabulous week!

FINISHED!

Y'alllllll...I'm a senior! Yes, a SENIOR! Wasn't I just freaking out about which anthropologie bedspread I would have in my dorm? Wow. Words cannot express how good it feels to be finished with this semester's school work. I thought it would never end. I mean seriously, it was project after project. Oh, and then good ole finals. Hey, I got a 100 on my first one..that's pretty good, right? Anyways, I'm to the point where I don't even care what I made on the rest of them..I'm just so glad to be finished. I feel like a 10,000 ton boulder has been liften off of my shoulders. I must admit, I had fun going to the library with my roomies the past 4 nights. They made the studying tolerable.

This is how I feel right now..sooo happy/excited/care-free
Sooo since I'm finished with finals you know what that means? It's summer time...which means my 21st birthday is right around the corner...well, 2 months, the beach is calling my name, family time, sun, relaxation, romance novels, friends, and care-free laughter. Clearly I'm a little over-joyed. Here's to an amazing summer to be spent with amazing friends!

I treated myself to these for making it through the semsester :)

Happy Summer!
